PROficient ideas. - Business Technical Consultant

Creator and founder of PROficient ideas, a consulting organization dedicated to helping small business define technology and Internet strategies. Services offered include e.Commerce, website design and hosting solutions, advertising and media, graphic design and digital photography. Responsible for the design, construction and implementation of proficientideas.com, business consulting client relationships, advertising and marketing, digital photography, graphic design and trade and freelance artist relationship management.

The RaceCar Store, Inc. - Creator/Director

Creator and founder of an original "one of a kind concept" auto racing enthusiast, hobby & gift store retail startup in Atlanta, Georgia. Designed, developed, constructed and rolled out two e-commerce websites that grew in sales volume from $200k to $800K in two years. Expanded the retail business to include a brick and mortar flagship retail location of 1600 sq ft. in Roswell, Georgia in December of 2000. Created, designed, constructed all facets of the retail project including but not limited to physical build out, selling space design and merchandising, local and national advertising & promotional programs, staffing, company and retail store management, vendor management, purchasing, accounting, creative national and local print advertising, promotional website design and maintenance as well as other major contributions to the company.

Selected Accomplishments

  • Physically designed, created and constructed two e-commerce retail websites. Including technical setup, domain registration, DNS Server Assignment, Front Page HTML web authoring and publishing. Each website was also setup with real time credit card processing utilizing CyberCash and VeriSign Payflow. Performed all aspects of web authoring and publishing including design elements, digital product imaging and editing, database cataloging generation and order processing.
  • Designed physical floor plan for retail location including all computer network and software technology, audiovisual equipment and product retail merchandising elements.
  • Managed the company project from startup phase through retail store build out and technology infrastructure installation including store merchandising and grand opening.
  • Managed, created, digitally designed and placed all print advertising in national publications for e-commerce success. The original e-commerce site grew in sales performance by 100% from year one to year two of the startup operation.
  • Implemented local advertising promotional strategies with neighboring "Caribou Coffee" (similar to Starbucks) and created, designed, constructed and rolled out an advertising program that included a colorful automotive website featuring a monthly gathering of auto enthusiasts at the retail location.
  • Co-promoted the retail location with Road Atlanta and the American LeMans Series based in Braselton, Georgia. Panoz Motorsports were a regular participant in promotional activities at the Roswell retail location on a monthly basis.
  • Participated in local promotional and charitable activities on behalf of the City of Roswell and the area High School and Elementary Schools

Promoted to National Hard Copy Technical Consultant Program Manager in '98. Responsible for North America and over 75 U.S. and Canada Hard Copy focused technical Consultants. Created, implemented and provided Hard Copy technical program management for the US and Canada LaserJet, Inkjet and Computer Graphic focused technical sales consultants. Directed their Computer Graphic oriented technical programs, provided technical training, technical content, review, delivery and future development driving the Hard Copy technical training program for the organization. Hosted, organized, structured, staffed, presented and reviewed quarterly technical training events for over 75 technical consultants delivered throughout the U.S. on an ongoing basis.

Hewlett Packard Company - Atlanta, Georgia - Regional Area Technical Consultant Manager

Promoted to Area Technical Consultant Manager in '95 with relocation to Atlanta, GA. Managed 23 regional technical consultants in a broad geographical area for Hewlett Packard PC Windows and LaserJet/Inkjet products. The Technical geographic area covered Chicago, IL to Miami, Fla. Worked closely with regional and area sales managers to provide the highest level of technical sales support to meet and/or exceed sales quota requirements set by the national managers for sales reps. Provided overall technical consultant team direction, hardware and software training, supervision, performance evaluation, and growth planning for the future of each individual member of the technical team. Continued to meet the standards set by the national technical consultant manager. Awarded NCO Achiever's Club Membership status for exceeding sales quota in '96, '97, '98 and '99 for the geographic sales area.

Hewlett Packard Company - New York, New York - Technical Consultant

Provided technical hardware pre-sales consulting and support for over 30 HP sales reps based in the HP New York Offices. Technical hardware and software support included the Windows PC and Server platforms. Hardware support also included Ethernet network products; network shared and individual laser and inkjet printers, digital imaging, and wide format color printing and computer graphics. Made major contributions to the sales teams in exceeding hardware sales quota for '92, '93, '94 and '95. Received the MVP Technical Consultant award in November '94. Also, awarded NCO Achiever's Club membership status during each of those four years.

Managed the Metropolitan New York City and regional New York State sales territory. Consistently exceed sales quota for the region. Provided technical assistance to the national sales manager and sales team members in new and emerging technologies. Including technology partnerships with companies such as Apple Computer and Hewlett Packard Company. Worked closely with the Greeley Division of Hewlett Packard and Santa Clara Division of Apple Computer focused on optical character recognition software and hardware applications for flatbed scanner devices.
